DSEI Japan 2023
March 15-17, MAKUHARI MESSE
NI will be exhibiting at DSEI Japan, March 15 – 17, in Makuhari Messe, Tokyo, showcasing our next generation of products and solutions designed to help businesses reach new levels of performance.
DSEI Japan is the only large-scale, fully integrated defence event to take place in Japan, providing unprecedented levels of access into the Japanese and wider Asia-Pacific market. It is where the global defence industry meets the Japanese defence community, supporting the sourcing of the latest equipment and systems, developing international relationships and generating new business opportunities and partnerships between Japan and the world.
Meet our team at H7-172 to discuss how with NI solutions, we can shorten development cycles, improve mission readiness and maximize effectiveness.

What you will see at NI booth:
Satellite Link Emulator - This demonstration on Satellite Communication Link Emulator is intended to validate next-generation satellite communication links with a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) approach that delivers maximum test fidelity and flexibility, emulating real-world system behaviour and channel effects in a laboratory setting. The Ansys Systems Tool Kit (STK) is integrated with NI PXI hardware and LabVIEW FPGA, enabling communication links between satellite and ground stations to be validated against accurate and realistic channel parameters in real-time.
Record & Playback - This demonstration presents NI PXI platform-based Record and Playback solution which can be scaled to acquire data from wide spectrum of Inputs signals and store the data with different tags like time, GPS location and user commands. The demonstration includes USRP 2954R which is used as a RF source. For Record and Playback, the demonstration uses Vector Signal transceiver – PXIe-5840. The data is stored on SD PXIe-8267 module. The system can be enhanced with different IO modules and offline analyses software to build a comprehensive tool for lab validation using field data.
RADAR Target Environment Simulator Demonstration - This demonstration shows the capability of PXI based instrumentation and Digilogic’s Software IP to simulate RADAR’s complex operational environment and generate echo signals comprising of Target characteristics, environmental clutter, and intended/ unintended interference from multiple sources. The demo will include PXI Vector Signal Transceiver generating echoes for Single/Multiple targets with trajectories, standard RCS model, user-defined for clutter and an interference signal. Such an approach helps validate RADAR systems in controlled lab environments and reduce the flight test hours significantly.
DVB-S2 and RCS Modem - This demonstration presents a DVB-S2 modulator and demodulator, and DVB/ RCS modulator and Demodulator compliant with ETSI EN302 307 and developed on commercial grade NI SDR platform. A combination of DVB-S2 and RCS modem can be deployed in the field as Satellite hubs and Satellite remote terminals. Alternately it can used for test and validation system for 3rd-party modems. The demonstration will include duplex communication up to 30MSymbols/s data rate and emulation of up to 3 different terminals.
Multi Emitter Generator and Location Fixing Demo - This demonstration includes data level streaming of multiple RADAR emitters in form Pulse Descriptor Words (PDW) over an ethernet interface. This stream of PDW emulates a stream of PDWs coming from multiple time coherent receivers at physically different locations and tracking same set of emitters. Thus, the PDW stream contains multiple instances of same emitter captured on different channels.
Structural Test - This demonstration is a simplified implementation of NI’s Static Structural Test Reference Architecture designed to build static structural measurement systems with NI hardware and software in a design pattern that has been tested and validated. This demo involves the following hardware and software measurements:
- Ethernet-based cDAQ systems
- NI-9236 - quarter bridge strain measurement
- NI-9213 - temperature input module
Software
- FlexLogger - to acquire the strain and temperature data
- SystemLink - used to manage the many instrumentation nodes and collect data so that it can be accessed remotely by analysts using the Static Data Viewer.
- Static Test Data Viewer - used by structural and mechanical analysts or design engineers to organize, configure, collate, and publish measurement data, reports, and alerts.
High Speed Video Streaming - We are demonstrating the video streaming capability using the NI high-speed serial data transmission. The demo is built on the FPGA-based high-speed serial instrument NI 6592 using Aurora protocol IP. Video data is given a set of images as input to the server system. Using NI IMAQ and Vision Development module the images are read and written into the host FIFO. All the images are read one by one and while reading the image size of each image is calculated. Based on this, the data stream rate can be controlled.
