Utilizing an open HIL Platform to contribute to a multi-vendor application
by Ashish Naik from National Instruments- Automotive Business Development Manager
Rapid functionality growth in modern vehicles directly leads to exploding test complexity when validating embedded software. To fulfill cost and timeline restrictions it is necessary to rely on as much reuse as possible for both test cases and test systems. This requires a platform based approach to integrate multiple tools together for a customer specific test capability. Learn about the industry challenge, NI’s approach utilizing customer examples.

Demand for EV Technology Testing Increases – Best Practices for Test Facilities
Harri Kervinen, Proventia Oy, Direttore, Test Solutions
Electrification has created a new challenge to testing facilities. Tightening competition on the EV market and the growing demand for testing new complex electric and hybrid technologies mean that the test operations must be fast, safe and reliable. Testing electric powertrains is generally safer than testing combustion engines and powertrains, yet battery testing can be lot more dangerous, even hazardous. A solution for today’s EV technology testing challenges are modular test facilities. Rapid deployment, safety and flexibility are the key factors in today’s test capacity solutions and the ability to adapt into constantly changing testing environment favours the modular test solutions over conventional test centres.

CNH Industrial ‘Autonomous Vehicles Validation’ Challenges and Altran 3D Interactive Virtual Reality in Hardware In the Loop simulation
Gennaro Monacelli, Technology Design Analysis & Simulation,CNH & Marino Difino, Advanced Solution Manager, Altran
Since the mid-1990s CNH Industrial has developed precision technology to make farming as efficient, productive and sustainable as possible. Autonomous tractor technology is the next step along this path and holds significant promise for the sustainable and productive future of farming. Never the less the design validation of Autonomous Vehicles will be the more difficult and expensive phase of its development process. Simulation is the solution for reducing costs and time.
Altran is developing a platform that combines the features of standard Hardware In the Loop used to test Electrical - Electronic systems with the capabilities of a 3D graphic environment.
By means of such tool, Altran is able to develop and manage scenarios synchronized with HIL test maneuvers, very important today for the Verification and Validation of autonomous driving systems.

Combine Sensor Fusion HIL with Measurement-based Tests to meet Test Challenges for Autonomous Driving
Joachim Glaess, Capo Direttore dello Sviluppo del Business, ADAS, Konrad
As automotive sensors increase in design complexity to deliver multiple capabilities, their test routines have evolved to complex test protocols in order to verify functional performance of the sensors. Radar, lidar and camera sensor technologies form a quintessential part of an autonomous vehicle mapping its environment before deciding on required actions. The combined use of scenario-based testing and measurements can effectively verify functional performance of the sensors in their application use case environment or conditions. In this session, we will share details of how the ADAS iiT sensor fusion HIL test method can address this evolving need.
